Keep this guide on hand next time you are cooking up a storm. Remember that you can also find additional information in your user manual. Remember, certain Omega models will have different functions, so see what is available in your manual.
Need something defrosted but unsure what temperature to use? This function will sort your frozen meat out with no issue. Be sure to place your food on the third slot from the bottom and a tray underneath to catch melting ice.
This will turn on the ring heating element and the rear fan. This function efficiently disperses heat around the oven so that food on all racks will cook evenly. To get the best results, be sure to preheat the oven at the desired temperature for 10 minutes and place the food in the centre of the oven.
This turns on the upper and lower heat elements and is the perfect function for cooking pastries, cakes, lasagna and pizza. For best results be sure to preheat the oven at the desire temperature for 10 minutes so the temperature is optimised and only use one shelf at a time.
Conventional with Fan Assist
This turns on the upper and lower elements as well as the rear fan. This is your go to for baking pastry. The elements provide the heat and the fan optimises the air circulation for a grilled effect on the food. Always follow the golden rule of preheating for 10 minutes.
Love your food grilled? This function starts up the grill heating element and is great for grilling and toasting food on the upper shelves. A tip for grilling; lightly brush the wire grid with oil to stop food sticking and be sure to place in the middle of the grid, plus a tray underneath to catch the fat.
Need a bit of extra power for your grill have a large selection of food? The Maxi-Grill function has you covered by using both the grill and upper heating elements in unison. This is perfect for browning foods such as lamb and pork cutlets, or desserts such as apple crumble.
Maxi-Grill with Fan
Have something large or thick that needs some extra power? This function will tick all your boxes. This turns on the trifecta of upper heating elements, grill and fan function. Again, brush the wire grid with oil, place the food in the middle and have a tray to collect the fat and you are good to go.
We’ve all been there when cleaning an oven, scrubbing hard wishing we cleaned it more often. Pyrolytic cleaning takes the leg work out of this by locking the door and heating inside to a high temperate which turns all residue to ash. IMPORTANT NOTE: Remember to take out the wire shelves and shelf supports.
Now you have all you need to be a cooking pro, no matter the dish. Be sure to impress your friends with your exemplary cooking function knowledge.
